Lantern Festival

In Chinese calendar, fifteenth January, it is Lantern Festival. It is a Chinese traditional festival. I am a GCA student who lives in Nanjing. Nanjing has a place called Confucius Temple. It was a place for testing people to be official in Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. When the Lantern Festival coming, there are always have many beautiful Chinese lanterns in there.

People who live in Nanjing have the habit, when the Lantern Festival comes, the evening of this day must go to Confucius Temple to visit it. Confucius temple always has a lot of people that night. It is almost 400000 people.

I went there with my mother and my father. When we reached Confucius temple, it is about 9 p.m. The population become less than before, but still a lot.

The Qinghuai River is through Confucius temple. We went along the river. There are many beautiful lanterns beside the river and also has a lot of water lanterns. I like the lanterns beside the river. It is total 12 lanterns. There are very light and every lantern has a woman and a poem to describe this woman write on it. The 12 women are 12 beauties of Junling. It is full of local characteristics. We found some stores sold the traditional Chinese lanterns. Doing those lanterns is an exquisite work so the prices of those lanterns are expensive.
We walked along the river until 11 o'clock however people became lots. Finally, we took pictures each other. How a good night!
