The french restaurant

December 21, 2008. Today, we are so excited. All my classmates and me go with 12 mentors go to have lunch in a French restaurant. It is a new-blown restaurant. It is besides the Qingliang Mountain, guangzhoulu83.
At 12:00a.m., we arrive to this restaurant called Paris feast by bus. It is my classmate Hugo’s parent’s restaurant. Hugo is a French student.
The environment is beautiful. The lights are very strange and creative. The chairs can rotate. The table spread the white tablecloth. Many Oil Paintings are on the walls. Layout is full of French ambience, but the building is a Chinese architecture. It is make there not have very strong sentiment of the French. It is little not harmony.
The food is different from Chinese foods. In different time serves different foods. Every food is served at defined intervals. The first food is Salad; there are lots of lettuce, little tomatoes and salad dressing. The second food is soup and bread. The soup is very savory. The third food is meat; however it is chicken if it is beef I will happy very much. The chicken was a pepper by Caesar. It is very delicious. The last food is dessert. It is an apple pie. The pie is very sweet.
The restaurant is a new-blown restaurant, so there do not have many people. The price maybe is very expensive, because if you want to eat the authentic French dinner, you must drink red wine. We are Hugo’s classmates, so we just pay 50 Yuan.

go to an exhibition with Ms.hadley's class

Dec4, 2008thursday, I go to see a sculpture exhibition--------Wu Weishan sculpture exhibition. In exhibition, all sculptures are made by Wu Weishan. On the morning, I go with my classmate, and tern meets my planning teacher Ms.Bartell and Ms.Hadley at the gate of the Tian Jiabing art gallery in Nanjing University.
Wu Weishan is artist. He is art professor of Nanjing University. He is very good at made sculpture. He ever won award the “pangolin prize” of the royal society of British sculptors in 2003, because he sculpture is called “sleeping child”. He has ever received by the queen of the Netherlands and sculptured for her.
Before me into this art gallery, I find many sculptures made by Wu Weishan on the lawn besides of this building. Many of there are famous cultural figures in china, such as Zhen he (the seafarer in china in Ming Dynasty). They are so lively. The big bull sculpture is in front of this art gallery. It is so strange and funny, because the part of stomach of the bull is empty.
When you are into this art galley you may feel there more sculpture is made Chinese cultural figures, so this exhibition maybe can near being a traditional sculpture exhibition. In the exhibition, I just like this sculpture. The title of this artwork is called “amuse you-Ma San Li”. It is also a sculpture by Wu Wei Shan. The artwork is made in 2006. The artwork is made of copper. The artwork uses very powerful and little flexible line and the color are brown. The artwork is a sculpture of a person who is called Ma San Li. Ma San Li wears Chinese traditional robe and his face has a very interesting expression. His mouth is open little. He put up a finger and craned his neck.
This artwork is very funny and interesting. The artwork makes me think of Ma San Li say comic dialogue. I have ever seen Ma San Li says comic dialogue .When he say comic dialogue, he always craned his neck and use strange tone to say comic dialogue and always makes me laugh. I think the artist not only wants us to know who Ma San Li is, but also want us to know he is a good comic dialogue actor.
I like this artwork. I think this artwork is very diverting and lively. The appearance of Ma San Li is a lot like this sculpture. When he says comic dialogue, it is very like this sculpture expression. The expression make Ma San Li like clown and also make me can not help laugh. I think other people who have ever seen Ma San Li’s comic dialogue or he might be feeling this lively. If the people have not seen, they also can feel sculpture’s Art Spirit.
After I see this exhibition, I learn more about china cultural figure and much knowledge about sculpture, such as the sculpture is made of materials. Thank you for my teacher brings me to this exhibition.
